Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Wave 2 is after Thrive.

Do not think you are out of the water. If you manager has assigned you a needs improvement scorecard you will more than likely be part of the second reduction in force. GK/EC said we are moving towards a high performance culture and there will be another wave in Jul-Aug timeframe. This is not over but it was necessary.

My manager said we would be fine until H2. There is no promise after that. He basically hinted thrive would impact us.!

There needs to be accountability at the top.

Pathetic - been here for 4 years and see a huge gap between the VPs who run around the world spending money and talking high level rubbish… no substance to drive real growth. All we are hearing is growth growth growth and nothing behind it. GK and CC are a joke. How about innovation and support to win in the block space rather than just taking dribble…. Enjoy lining your pockets with your shares guys.

High performance culture? So GK, Selfie King and several others will leave soon?

Leadership has vision that inspires greatness. NetApp has management and directives. NetApp management runs staff by spreadsheet. GK sided with investors against the employees in the last all hands call. Every VP under Harv is in a pi----g contest with each other. No consistent message about anything other than “block”.

It’s a case study in what not to do writing itself every day.

@dg+1jsywtez7 Most coaching plans are a joke and have unattainable goals you will be measured against They are basically giving you 90 day notice to find a new job. It’s actually a nicer way to fire somebody. This is not unique to NetApp and is a fairly common practice in sales organizations. Use this time to find another gig. Why anyone would want to continue to sell for NetApp amazes me. The comp plan has made it so difficult to make any money at this company It’s not worth it. Find a better company that rewards their reps appropriately for the contributions you make.

Why is President Cesar making comments he would not hire NetApp employees, great way to boost morale 👏

Is the Selfie King comment about how he would never hire NetApp employees recorded anywhere? That would be some great stuff for upcoming Thrive discussions.

I joined the company a few years back and I've never worked at a place that has laid off more people. New upper management gets in place, they wipe the place clean and put in their people from past jobs (that probably didn't work out because those places are our competitors and they are behind us) , and expect we'll get to $10 billion overcorrecting every 6 months. I've experienced twice where I've gotten momentum to the point we're going to ki-l it in the coming year, and then everything gets switched around and you start over. And with Strategics getting dismantled...they were 30% YoY and they all get let go? It's almost like someone is jealous or concerned about themselves regarding how successful they are, so they stop it in it's tracks. WTH? And letting high performers and good people go so they can go to our competitors with a chip on their shoulder is not good for business. BTW I was not let go - just observing - it's nuts.

What's happened to the NetApp "Best Place to Work" culture?

Its not high performance culture. Its more like if you arent working as much as we want you to you're pretty much giving us the grounds to terminate you without severance.

I love the term ‘high performance culture’…it’s everywhere…but here’s the thing, about 20% of people might meet the definition of ‘high performance’ as it’s commonly used, so everyone wants those high performance resources but guess what? There aren’t nearly enough of those to go around.

IF it was a peer review I think all of us would have GK on a PIP, along with Cesar.

GK was good when the company was in the dumps 2016. Restructured, sold buildings, got NetApp on solid footing.

Now he changes company direction every 3-5 quarters, totally destroying any momentum.

Cesar is a social media selfie king. He pays no respect to the workers and just takes credit for any success. Then, he and his VPs comment that they would not hire NetApp employees if they were interviewing.

way to ki-l the culture a--hats...

George Kurian should be at the top of the list. He has underperformed his whole ten years if we look at revenue.
