Until this company hires and trains competent store leaders who are capable of managing a multi million dollar business this company is going no where.
Six months ago a new Von Maur store opened in our mall and it has made Macy's already bad business even worse.
Instead of having a strategy in place to compete with the new competition our management told us that Von Maur is not a threat.
Well fast forward six months to today and our business is deteriorating and management does not know what to do.
Meanwhile down at the new store there is robust foot traffic, and they have resurrected the better and designer business in this this wealthy area.
Macy's has lost any and all better business. Nobody wants Macy's low quality private lable merchandise.
This example proves that if you build it they will come.
I think Macy's decades of decline has postioned the company to a pointe of no return. Macy's does not offer what the customer wants.
Macy's own employees are shopping at the new store.
