Research ACA plans before deciding.
Sparq search (COBRA Rates) will reveal COBRA costs for your current plan.
For me, COBRA is cheaper than a ACA silver level category plan. But, I would not qualify this year for any ACA discounts...healthcare.gov search cost-sharing reductions.
Plus, I have am close to meeting my annual deductible. So, I personally won't sign up for ACA.
The ACA prohibits medical underwriting - denying or charging higher rates for pre-existing conditions, in the Small group and individual markets. The markets will most likely be cheaper than COBRA.
Used to be 110% of the total premium each month. I think you can figure out what company pays and what you pay from your pay stub. Super expensive but if existing medical conditions you dont really have a choice since on open market underwriting might exclude prexisting conditions.
I’m only doing Cobra for the dental and vision because it is relatively cheap after that you can sign up for the marketplace medical insurance if you receiving unemployment in most case the medical insurance will be free or a very low cost that’s what I’m doing
It’s expensive…but…you can get it retroactively for 90 days.
Never get cobra before the 90 day mark.
You can check on Sparq but it’s the full cost and it’s quite expensive
