Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

Fall of Sunrise

In its heyday prior to Allscripts buying Eclipsys and destroying it, Sunrise was licensed to about 150 health systems and hospitals w big names like NYU, NYPH, Yale, Hopkins, Michigan, CHOP, BMC, Baylor, RWJ, Kentucky, Orlando, etc.
Now, they have maybe 50-60 licensed customers and no academic medical centers.
Soon NorthWell will start moving to Epic and the customer base will consist of community hospitals other than few.

Sunrise Ambulatory is not a true Ambulatory or Practice Management one. No business being the Amb space. They are just shoving it in trying to flip Touchworks clients who are now saying he’ll no.

It’s not hard to understand. They never developed Sunrise Ambulatory correctly and it took until 2016 to get fully integrated with Rev Cycle, Surgery, Radiology, etc. Never got an integrated Lab. They bet on dbMotion which was a huge disaster.
Development problems started w JGO and continued.
