I can't understand a word Lip-Bu says. They'd be better of just releasing a text version of his thoughts.

What was the mistake about the retirement packages last time?

There are two types of layoffs, squeezing more out of your remaining employees (more $$$ per employee) and when your business is shrinking so you don’t need the heads (despite fewer employees can become less $$$ per employee). LBT thinks he’s doing the former but Intel is clearly entering the territory of the latter

I wanted to ask Dave and Michelle - how is the new strategy different from what they have been selling as executives for the last several years. To me, every thing seems the same. The only mistake they are admitting to is early retirement packages they offered. What's wrong with these executives ? If they are not willing to admit, they won't be able to change. The "customer focus" is an old mantra and has ZERO value if it's not done with sincerity. So far - I haven't heard any moral boosting, full of energy message. The tone of the meeting is very low key. The excitment is not showing from their energy. No inspiration.
