If he had mentioned we are ending any DEI bullsh-t. That will take care of 10% if not more. Are we still encouraging DEI hiring with the disabled, army, women, race, ethnic in this day and age where a once iconic company is battling to survive? This should have been a Circuit question

@ay, DEI does NOT prioritize anything over merit. But it does attempt to ensure people with the characteristics you mention have equal opportunity. When in the history of this country has being a white male not been an advantage that had nothing to do with merit? And now, anyone in a skilled position who is not a white male is assumed to be less qualified and a DEI hire. When one is used to privilege, equality can feel like oppression.
OP touched a nerve. A lot of people in this thread wouldn't be hired based on merit, and it shows.
OP, you’re pathetic. I see you downvoting my post right now. 7 downvotes in 2 minutes?

I’m sure you’ll just sit here “owning” this thread instead of finding your ba--s tho.
Sc--w DEI! Yet, somehow when you go to campus, it’s overrun with the same lazy, old, white Boomers who sold out this country, and got Intel in particular into this mess.
Maybe Intel needs more DEI? The whites there haven’t been getting it done for a long time. Asian superiority is kind of unquestionable at this point. But that’s cultural (aka learning, not TikTok), not because of bodily characteristics.
Then grow a pair and type it in Circuit.

The biggest DEI program that should be cut is the leg up program Indians and Chinese use called OPT. Through OPT companies are given a 15% tax break over American New grads. End OPT and the Migrant DEI pipeline.
Tell your congressman to support bill HR2315 and end Migrant DEI preferences.
LBT is a DEI hire so there's that
@OP, what’s wrong with “army, women, disabled”? Don’t like seeing people with canes, prosthetics? Army, Navy, AirForce, Marines, even Coastguard have degrees and brains. Women can think. You sound like a fu--ing Na-i klansman. If I heard you voicing your fu--ing opinions at work, I’ d bust your a-s in a second. sincerely, a ADA Vet worker
@a8, I for one am interested to hear the misunderstanding you think OP has regarding DEI. It seems to me they have a good handle on what DEI is & does. It prioritizes immutable characteristics like gender, skin color, and s-xuality over merit. It says to employees "Sure you can do the job better than anyone, but do you have the right skin color? Do you think the right way politically? Do you fit into the boxes we currently approve?" It is, at its core, all the things its proponents claim to hate: racism, s-xism, bigotry. Those who support it have the attitude that it's only bad when it's done in one direction. When done the other way around, it's "justice".
If they brought back focal and grade on merit, I suspect that would reverse a lot of the hiring were merit was not considered
You have a misunderstanding of DEI. We also know your vote. If you work at Intel, you might be one of those with low performance who survive only because they are friendly with their supervisor.
