Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Ki-ling Us Slowly

I don’t know how much longer I can keep you going. If I am helpful and don’t complain, I am given more work. Work that doesn’t belong to my team, but because another team is drowning, suddenly it becomes my problem. I don’t have time for breaks, eat lunch at my desk everyday, start early and work late. Now I am working weekends to get my “normal” work done. I am snapping at my family because I am exhausted. I don’t see it ending anytime soon. I hope the reduction in workforce has made someone happy because it is ki-ling your staff. I can’t keep doing the job of +3 people. There needs to be a cap on how many hours a salaried person can work. I am burnt out and so is every else on my team and across most of the organization. We need help!!! For a “health” company, you really don’t care about work/life balance.

@OP what VP do you work under, and what team (if you're comfortable sharing). CVS is a very very big company.

If you can't find another job and quit, then just stop working over time. If your manager gets on your case, tell them exactly what you just wrote and they can fire you if they like...but they won't.

Job hunts right now are 6 to 9 months. There is alot of competition out there now especially with government layoffs.

Not sure why CVS takes so long to hire either. They have a candidate pool to chose from from former employees.

They need to remove Directors and above. Promote people instead of lateral moves or bringing in outsiders. Positive change happens when the people who suffer get promoted because they know what needs to change.

Unfortunately people get moved laterally, because it's easier.

Start looking for some place were you are respected!

Life is too short to be miserable and mistreated!

Good Luck
Know your value

I can completely relate and having to enter everything I do into Jira when I don’t work on software develop is taking up more time that I could be using to do my actual job.
