Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The fact is Intel has been seen as a Social welfare service by some in top management

Some of the top manager have been very resistant to the layoffs in their areas. The mindset has been not about the welfare of the company, but welfare of their own 'Empire'.

Perhaps you all know someone who is like that. Unless all of such managers are identified and given a send off, Intel will not even a single step towards a recovery.

Fully agree. Many Intel folks who have been around for 20+ years are a bit too comfortable. They've paid off their house. Their kids have completed their education and left home. They have side business ventures for additional income streams.
They have absolutely no motivation to leave this cushy Intel job, nor be productive while they're here. They're here to enjoy the employer benefits to continue to grow their wealth. They have no fear of a layoff and will gladly stick around until they are walked out.
Intel HR and top management needs to make sure we have a healthy balance of experienced engineers and younger, more energetic ones.
