With TM exit and New Guy entrance, might these changes bring the kind of change Teradata so desperately needs?

TM, SVP Engineering. The 'leadership' behind VantageCloud Lake (which was anything but a lakehouse architecture). Maybe now the company will realize a strategy to embed the engine in other platforms using AI Unlimited and ditch the monolithic cloud infrastructure battle it lost to Snowflake 5 years ago. Probably not.
Slather this turkey with agentic-ai mumbo jumbo and hope that gcp is ready for dinner.
Hope and change.
I have no issues with the new guy, but let’s look at the facts. He was hired to shift this company to be AI-focused. I’ve said it many times, we are NOT an AI company! In the past 40+ years, Teradata did not make millions off AI. It made millions off the Teradata database. I agree we need to integrate AI into our product but that’s not what this is about. It’s like Coca Cola saying they’re going to start making cars. Leave AI to the startups that are already successful
Do you really believe any single person could fix this mess, including a new CEO? If you leave the wound untreated, it gets to the point that it's untreatable
TM? As in Tim McIntire? Really?
No. We've seen the procession of newcomers into this company over the years. All with fresh ideas. After a very short while they are either running back out the door because they realise they joined a dud company, or they have been given the inside running into how to enrich themselves with RSU and hop onto the gravy train
TM? What function were they in?
Shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic.
Hahahahahaha. No hope.
Nothing to lose! God bless TDC!
