Some people do say that. The other, unlucky, under-skilled, over-the-hill, or not-so-pollyannish get some form of trauma from getting kicked so hard in the metaphysical ba--s.
A diagnosis can totally devastate you spiritually, worse even than at times. Not sure which is more unbearable.
