Just heard that it has started layoff. They have notified the exec leader who got impacted. Do not know what will happen to his team any idea?

You've never been lucky enough to work for good management. You're just used to management that's worse than Google's AI which thinks hippos can perform complex medical procedures.
Layoff is for outer world. Folks with no connection or network are let go whereas those with network get to stay and promoted. See what happened with Oct/Nov layoff. Some of the directors laid off in paper but are back in cisco with their connections. More precisely, the directors in CX are back, DnA are back. What is happening in Cisco ? totally Mafia

Once a year executives are turned over as they are found totally efficient and inept. Next in line gets promoted and the cycle continues.
Top four layers must go, they provide nothing of value. This is what is happening at Intel, shrinking middle layers. AI can solves all managerial tasks.
