Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

21k at Intel. GlobalFoundries Next?

With 21k set to be laid off at Intel, could be a flood of skilled semiconductor workers in the mix at GF for the future. This could impact whatever leverage the GF employee had during a worker shortage.

Over the years, I have found that not too many people in the industry want to relocate to NY.

Employees never have leverage anywhere, unless they unionize.

It is time….

It holds leadership accountable to their poor decisions, and protects the worker, when done right.

Do it, or stop complaining.

@OP+1 employees never had leverage at GF, you would have to care about employees leaving instead of encouraging them to leave so they can replace you in low cost geos like GF does. The longer you stay at GF the more trapped you get. Majority of talented employees left already, if you have any talent, you should leave sooner than later. Eventually either GF gets purchased or they sink, one or the other is going to happen. Either way employees won't benefit from either scenario.
