Ultimately it goes up to the top BU guys and they can change the rankings at will. They will save their guys and “calibrate” the ranking to however they want. Saves money on bonus payout during layoff.
Sure they do. And with the immoral and unethical practice of stack ranking, it's already decided who will be cut.
Absolutely they have a say in Eng unless their whole department is getting cut along with their role. They get a courtesy heads up way in advance to start looking for a new role in that situation.
