Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

I'm not sure what people are complaining about

Aside from occasional layoffs, which are the main reason I follow this page, Accenture is still a better employer than many others in the industry. I earn significantly more here than I did at my last job, the benefits are better, and (I know this is personal) I am surrounded by great people. I can understand complaints about layoffs, but the rest feels like noise, in my opinion.

But we are talking here of a corporation, I am not sure what your expectation is. To be honest when I first found out how Googlers and Meta employees lived, in terms of being able to live like teenagers way beyond their 30s, I said back then, that that is not sustainable. More so, allowing that young people earn as much as hundreds of thousands a year, having amazing food, snacks, drinks, gym and other sport activities at work, free massage and free washing services set the people up for rude wake up call later. There is an old saying when you wish to curse someone, "I wish you had it all, and then lose it". I guess it is like a a narcissistic relationship where you are love bombed and then thrown away. Guys, that was not sustainable. Back in days not so long ago, people had healthy expectations of work. You sign a contract and provide a service for which you get paid. They did not expect to have passion for a job, nor all engaging activities. People just did their job well, got a pay check and spent the time with their families. We are talking about corporations, what is your expectation? To have a CEO who will emotionally look after every single employee? I think we need to manage our expectations and just chose, if one does not like corporation, find another employer. If one has a job at a corporation and finds it appealing, great. But emotional talks about "greedy" and "cold" corporations, does not make any sense. Make a choice and live with it.

Hey there, I could not agree more :-) I also can not comprehend the whole drama, especially knowing from people I know, that gras is not greener on other side.
