Landmark being dismantled. You wonder continuously when the layoff will be. When do you find out? When you start a workday and get “the email” for the meeting that morning. Your audio and camera is turned off, you’re told by someone you don’t know. Applying like mad for 2 months in a NP swamped market. I’m so ready to walk away from this company and never look back!

Optum HBMC or at Home or Landmark is fraud to Medicare! They don’t manage the members chronic illness they just collect Medicare dollars paid on the high paying HCC codes for chronic illness. The fee based PCP the member goes to is managing and Optum is supposedly coordinating care! Once the member joins a value based organization and sees their PCP there then they are discharged from Optum because the PCP value based is collecting the Medicare dollars and Optum can’t any longer. It’s such a joke and a huge fraud to Medicare!
How do we know we will get a severence?
This is what we were told in that initial meeting held by the regional VP’s. Landmark/HBMC as a model will be discontinued. UHC DSNP members will still be managed by FPM aka Optum At Home in the markets that already have it. They did not say whether or not NP’s would be retained to manage the highest level members. I imagine they will since that’s how the legacy FPM model was.
Might be some confusion landmark is done for c&s and m&r members with UHC. We are still providing services for the other UHC members not part of those two groups
You don’t know the first thing about stress. The C-level executives rely on a healthy stock price for the majority of their compensation. Just imagine what they’re going through right now. They have 3, maybe 4 houses they have to pay for. And domestic help isn’t cheap these days.

How do they plan to manage chronic conditions ? When I worked there all I saw was chaos . Short staffing, low payer, 1% raise no matter what, the physicians are not in charge of anything .confusion, bad care especially for home bound ( if any care) All they focused on was upcoding and diagnoses .

IF HBMC are gone after 5/8 why are they continuing to schedule & reschedule appointments?

That’s what they want. Sit back and do the minimum. Let them lay you off, don’t quit. Get the severance and unemployment. Don’t give in to them. They want you to be stressed and give up so they don’t have to take responsibility.
