Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Sr. Risk Manager salary?

displaced by Wells Fargo a few months ago, in severance period, applied for a sr. Manager role at Truist and they want to interview me. I’ve heard Truist su-ks, but Wells has to be worse. Anyone know what the salary range is for this role, or ballpark? And you guys are 4 days RTO, right? We were 3 at WF. Thanks!

Can you have a friend at Truist find out the job grade, they can then look up the range. Guessing here based on other companies but you’d probably be offered 80-85% of the range based on your location.

Only a handful of ppl are actually required to work 4 days... and it's usually the lower job grades. The higher job grades get to WFH, or 1 day, or 2 days, or 3. Some come and go as they please. No rhyme or reason, just depends on your manager.

Unless you are desperate - run!
Unless you are desperate. I'd keep looking.

I would say run away, but since you said only a couple years until retirement then I can see where a job is a job and even this bank could look appealing.

Just ask in the interview what the range is, Sr Manager is a ubiquitous term so it could be very different department to department.

Risk is in constant flux so if you are ok with forever change, you will be fine.

As for RTO, the HR nerds say 4 days, in actuality it depends on your manager and how much they hate your name being on the report and how much they will let you badge and dash. For a lot of teammates they swipe in at 8am, chat up a couple people and are home in time to fix themselves lunch. Until they start a report tied to computer logins and clarify the policy to state a minimum number of hours in the office, I am not going to get too worked up about it for my directs.

Truist is Wells Fargo lite. If you survived wells you will be fine here. RTO is supposed to be 4 days. Due to space and only badge swipe reporting there are many that do not come in that often. It’s not like wells. The reports do not include network logins, vacation time ect. The reports do is only badge swipes so there is more manager discretion.

OP here, appreciate everyone chiming in, I am without a job, so beggars can’t be choosers. Job is in the resiliency area where I worked at Wells. Sr. Risk Manager. Just a few years away from retirement, so I can survive another bad bank for that length of time. RTO 4 days?

Riffed, rehired, riffed again. Take a job at SunTruist only if nothing else is available, oh and risk is a disaster I would certainly stay away from that mess.

It’s going to depend upon your job grade and your location. But, the compensation should be similar to that of what you made at WF.

Truist is definitely not a pleasant place to work. But, the compensation has gotten better. So, if you are just looking fay a paycheck, I’d say do it. If you want an enjoyable place to work and career growth, keep on looking.

No. No, it does not. Working at Truist SU-KS. Do NOT even bother to interview, let alone accept a job here. Manage your risk and nope the eff outta any universe that involves working at Truist.
