We went from having layoffs occasionally to almost every other month in the blink of an eye. I’m not usually an alarmist, but I think this is a clear sign of what’s coming, and none of it looks good. It’s hard not to feel like we’re just waiting our turn at this point.

I survived countless rounds of layoffs, but this last one got me. Some of us joked that Ricoh feels a lot like The Hunger Games, which is sad because it was a fantastic company to work for, besides the constant layoffs. My advice is to keep applying for jobs outside of Ricoh. I wish I had worked harder to find a job before being laid off.

It’s hard because that’s exactly what’s happening. Sooner or later, it’s going to be every one of our turns.
We need tariffs on all outsourced jobs. Minimum $400,000/year.
