when is promotion this year, how much is pay raise?

I have 7 employees under me. I was allocated 1.7 percent if I gave everyone the same. I am sick of just giving everyone the same then no one is happy. I am going to give my 2 top performers all of it. The other 5 get nothing.
All merit increases were entered. Then someone sc--wed it up and they had to redo it. From my understanding though, you should still see a small increase on or around 5/1 depending on what kind of employment situation you're under. The range managers were given made it difficult to hit 2%, so expect a small bump at best.
You will get one or the other. Not both.
Your 5% increase from your promotion will actually be a 3% increase from the promotion because you will miss out on the 2% increase that everyone else received.

From my understanding, managers are putting them in as of this past Friday, potentially this week. But I'm sure a manager on here could confirm. As for merit, not sure
