Moving positions elsewhere.

@kn

Hello, Citi "Human" Resources or MD/D !!!

Citi's best employees will be the first to get off the Citi Train Wreck or rather, CitiTitanic because the best employees can easily land a new employer due to their In-denand skills and knowledge.

Good luck retaining qualified employees! Citi is lucky if it can inveigle Drvg Addicts/Dealers to work for Citi. ROTFLMFAO!

Equality Act 2010 - mandates salary transparency. We don’t all live in a pseudo-capitalist nightmare where billionaires and monopolies dictate legislation through lobbying for mo--ns to get elected. I suppose you probably wouldn’t understand, kindred spirits and all that.

For those complaining about Belfast staff enquiring about salary. There is a legal right in the uk to discuss pay amongst colleagues.

Belfast employees complain that there are no other tech jobs in that location. Its either tech at Citi in Belfast or manual labor. I don’t know if that’s true or not.

What’s your point? Regardless how awesomely great Belfast employees may or may not be, they still push and dig hard to find out how much other people make in the other various regions. For whatever reason, its an important thing for them to try and figure out.

I would disagree with your generalisation about the Belfast site. There are over 2000 staff there. I work with several teams based there and find the staff to be proactive, hardworking and diligent. I would imagine the staff know exactly who you are and are disappointed with your posting such derogatory remarks. If you cannot say something positive then say nothing.

Where did the thought come from that if a MD gets a title change or a promo, that the site that they are located in is completely safe from any and all layoff possibilities. If you look at the history of Citi, its obvious that this is not the case. Regardless of PH gets a promo and\or title change has NO bearing on whether Belfast is on the chopping block to some measure or even a serious measure or not. Anyone that thinks otherwise is grasping at straws of hope in order to feel safe and sound. In other words delusional.

His role didn't expand. They moved 60% of his org out and he's left with prod ops, some banamex stuff and some reporting. The reorg doesn't make much sense on why they're layering CTI again (renaming it to CTS), yet CISO is largely the same

You are not supposed to seek out, inquire and ask others about how much they make, bonus’s or raise amounts they get. In the US, you get a meeting with your manager and HR about NOT doing that. So Belfast should get a free pass?

Take Jane’s advice, if you don’t like it, get off of the train. Seek out another job for better pay where you live. If there aren’t any other jobs where you live that pay more, then stop complaining.

Belfast is a "mid cost" location but are paid 50% less than Dublin (2HRS drive away), Edinburgh (1HR Flight) and London (1.5HR Flight). There are also people who "work in London" but live in Belfast which causes even more discrepancy. So I think people in Belfast have a right to be annoyed, especially when the average rental price for a 2 Bedroom is now £1,200 a month and childcare costs more than a mortgage!

They treat Belfast like it's still in the 90s.

I’m on several different calls a day. I noticed that on two of them, I have some Belfast employees on there. This topic does seem to come up quite often from them. Over in the US, its considered taboo to discuss such things. Its clear the Belfast gang operates by different rules. A constant running numbers game as to which region or country gets paid how much in comparison and how that translates to UK $.

True. Bunch of complainers in Belfast. All they do is sit around all day and try to figure out who is making what for salary. “US makes more than Belfast. So and so makes ‘x’ and I make less than that.” Its like a contest or personal challenge for them to make the global rounds to figure out who is making more than who.
