Yes. It's true. My manager said he's planning on doing that.
In AZ, Scottsdale Fashion Square will convert to Bloomingdale’s while Biltmore Fashion Park 10 minutes west on Camelback will remain Macys. Now, with Sak’s at Biltmore most likely on the chopping block - it’s looking like a bleak future for Biltmore. Not sure all the luxury apt’s being added to the top of this outdoor mall (think Kierland Commons) will drive retails for this center.
I read most likely Macy's stores in suburbia closest to macy downtown stores (san francisco macy the closest daly city store will remodeling into a Bloomingdales as downtown sf Bloomingdales stores has closed recently too. Macys going out of business sale?. Like sears
Makes perfect sense to change the First 50 Stores that dont have Bloomingdales near them or in their market
If stores were to be converted, I am not sure if they would hold liquidation/close temporarily or stay open during renovations/conversion.
The stores that are closing are closing permanently. There are rumors going around that a few of the top-performing stores in the company will be converted to Bloomingdale’s (i.e. Columbus, OH - Easton Town Center)
