What good is a big company without a worthless aristocracy. Tell me, what decisions have they made recently that propelled Intel past the competition and brought wealth to the shareholders. Please go back to focused teams of skilled SW, HW engineers and data analyst that iterate rapidly, fail fast (rather than slow), and get shyt done. Or we can continue to sit there and honor the S PE with 16 years in who has grown fat and arrogant, and he and his manager buddy of 12 years can lord over the skilled workers, marginalize them, and make them wait a decade before they can produce. Meanwhile competitors are cranking out APIs and analysis tools and other software that is putting silicon in sockets.

He should give a target to each department to reduce head count but excluding first line employees. Only that will really work if he wants to reduce bureaucracy.

We need every layer of middle management gone. Every singe one. Across all business units and foundry. The pomp parade is over. You, yes you, deceitful and corrupt middle management, who are eating pay check after bloated pay check need to go. So pathetic is this middle that their impropriety infects everyone and everything it touches. You must go , the green stench emanating from your toxic being can be seen for miles and miles around. You must go. Believe it or not, the real hard workers are productive in spite of you not because of you.

Every layer removes is likely going to lead to 500-1000 line workers being terminated, because many of them only have jobs to support the layers above them.

Especially at GM and above, the org gets inflated to support their pet projects and importance.

Every time one of those execs are pushed out, then you see the knifes come out and this appears to be the setup for shock and awe. The mother of all layoffs.

This is all very good for Intel and may make it a better place to work for the few that are still employed. The rest should have left on their own terms.

Ya Shoulda Taken The Package!

A flattened management structure with an engineering focus would definitely be progress. There is a big “But” of course. The insecure, .ppt pushing, management network with outdated skills will likely recommend the most skilled individual contributors for the chopping block in some misguided attempt to save their own ar-e. IMHO anything short of a blanket wipe of the corrupt and unskilled middle is futile. You owe them nothing Intel!

How many layers of management now exist at Intel from the line worker (hourly wage) up to the CEO? Samsung just fired a bunch of VPs about 4 to 6 months ago. I want to know how Intel management structure compares against TSMC and Samsung.

Up until the 2000s Intel was very flat. We started growing layers and layers and adding VPs like a bank. Please just fire them all.

I suggest to start from the top and keep moving down until the impact can be felt.

How many layers of management will he eliminate from the "pyramid"? Decision making must be swift and concise since Intel is in a survival mode now.
