You do realize no one’s being held hostage here, right? I get being worried about layoffs, but constantly whining about every little thing and then doing absolutely nothing to change your situation makes no sense. If you’re that unhappy, the door isn’t locked.

Where are you finding jobs that only 150 people are applying to? Lately, in recent months, recruiters told me they got 300+, 500+, and 1200+ for jobs they were talking to me about.

HR is not going to do anything for you it is not worth it. It will need to be part of the bigger cuts as part of the merger for them to offer anything so they can write off your severance. If the merger doesn’t happen soon enough the cuts will come anyway.
If they offered me a generous enough buyout I would leave in a heartbeat! Thinking about talking to HR about it, unless anyone here thinks that is unwise...
Coordinator level employee here. I'm just trying to stay employed, if possible. There's a lot of us regular people who are just trying to hang in there despite the obvious bleakness of our company's standing.
