There is no way the ship can turn around. It’s always open season on new talent and young engineers who face the insecurity driven wrath of PE, senior PE, middle management. I’ve seen with my own eyes new employees with ~3-4 years in try to bring simple modern practices from outside to a team only to have their efforts blocked, purposely under appreciated, or their work stolen outright. Scary thing is, at first I thought this observation was anecdotal, this is happening at scale across the entire organization. No amount of LBT layoffs can fix that. We would need the Pacific itself to come in and wash out the shyt culture.
