Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Who's volunteering?

Seriously - this is supposed to be a great benefit but when is their time for this?

Just use it to volunteer at your kid’s school or for a field trip.

I've been skipping it for the last 5 years.

The group volunteer events were fun until you realized it was the only way to ingratiate. Boss does A, volunteer event is A. Any other volunteer work was a waste of time even if it was much more valuable to those in need. One year a VP had newly taken up ____. They got upset by those having years of experience.

Skip a few meetings - then you can volunteer. No one will say a thing if you wear your volunteer shirt (life hacks).

What a weird thing to be upset about! If you don't want to volunteer, then...don't.

I personally think it’s a great benefit. I make time for it.

The community benefits. Employees can participate without sacrificing pay. I can’t imagine how this hurts anyone.
