Anyone else in issuing at GPN wondering what to expect with the FIS acquisition ahead? Curious how this might impact growth, layoffs, promotions, or team structure before 2026.

re: WP
Mainly, but not exclusively, technology. Around 100 total from US and India gone today. 40 plus "at risk" in the UK.
World pay layoffs started today.
OP was asking about FIS and Issuing, not Worldpay. If you're working in the issuing business there's a high incentive to keep the business in place and executing until the deal closes so think we should be pretty safe. And if there was any option to reduce expenses they'll wait until the deal closes so that FIS management can take credit for the cost savings. Deal should take a year to close. Also, Issuing doesn't exist at FIS so most cuts will occur in corporate functions like HR and Finance. Worldpay is a different story entirely.
Shareholders meeting next week ( 24th) , followed by reduction in force announcement . My manager has already hinted that I should start organizing my documents. I believe we will be officially notified about layoffs by the first friday of May. Hang in there, this is gonna be an unsetteling two weeks. I plan to start using my vacation time before I am sc--wed out of that.
Global payments is going to dismantle worldpay brick by brick while collecting millions along the way and leaving worldpay in ruins. It's what they did to heartland and tsys. They use these acquisitions as a money grab and take off running straight to the bank while ruining livelihoods. I will never work for global payments ever again. I rather live in my car or on the street because that's where I will eventually end up working for global payments. It wasn't even my choice to work for such a corrupt group of people. Tsys was acquired because our former ceo Troy wanted millions to run as well and sold the company out. Greed all around for money. No humanity at all. These are people's lives and children they are playing with. They just don't care. We will only see justice when Christ comes.
I feel bad for the employees of world pay. I worked for tsys for 17 yrs total, 10 yrs before the last big layoff global did in August 2024. I got laid off on the day of my 10th anniversary. Here is what to expect from global going forward. I would advise you to start saving money now. It's really difficult to find a job in the tech world. I had to relocate to atlanta for a new job.
expect lot of layoffs duplications, forget about promotion. Having a job and keeping after mergers get completed is big deal.. Worldpay and GP has synergies of 50% meaning cut by 50% .. this will happen over next 2-3 years
To the employee of Worldpay, how was working under FIS?
As an employee of WorldPay (the company getting acquired) we’re all wondering the same thing
