Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Is it time to be concerned ?

Well maybe it is.

Have a look at Rene Obermann's track record at past company where he was leading the so called "restructuring" programs.
https://www-ft-com.ezp-prod1.hul.harvard.edu/content/0a678bc4-c78f-11db-8078-000b5df10621
Here he proposed to outsource some 45,000 jobs at Deutsche Telekom which then got caught up in a disagreement within the Board decision, where there was a powerful union to stand up in protest, indeed some 10,000 employees went on protest to voice their rejection of such restructuring plans, but to no avail.

Another one is
https://www.dw.com/en/telekom-employees-protest-upcoming-cost-savings-plan/a-2368212
Here he required up to 55,000 staff members at Deutsche Telekom to work longer hours without pay increases.

His restructuring won high praise from the DT Board saying: "CEO Obermann’s plan has “convinced the supervisory board. He has so far done a good job. It’s good that he is stirring up the organization.”

Yes, there is more of the same in which the restructuring was quite ferocious - but you get the point as to what could be coming our way.

So should we get out Wi---e Nelson's version of "Turn out the lights the party's over" ? I guess we will all find out soon enough - but for sure, given what we see on some past history, it seems that things could be looking much better for us,

I have one question regarding this post: How can we be sure that this wasn’t originally created in german, and then translated by the same AI that also produced the godawful english version of the cerification that we all had to endure?

Unfortunately, no surprise there! The stock price rules. I look at the pattern of people leaving in the last five years and the cost of mismanagement. That’s the 100 million budget cuts and listen to the financial calls tells you an interesting story.

They-SAP are trying to run it like some innovative organization, the problem SAP is not innovative. It does not compete with MAGA.

Good luck to all.

Indeed, times will be changing at SAP. Soon will be gone both Hasso and Dietmar and then the legacy will be forgotten and the company that once was the rated the Best Place to Work in multiple countries, will be no more

It's clear when looking at the profile of the new incoming chairman what the selection committee was looking for. Under new leadership, SAP will engage in the race to the bottom line by how much expenses can be cut.

Be prepared and look out for yourselves.

Dominik Asam and the incoming Board Chair both come from Airbus. Both have a history of sacking people en mass. So yes, the future of SAP is bleak. But always have a backup plan in case, the layoffs and redundancies aren't done yet.

Yes, and that's why I have been applying for months now. But nobody is hiring because of ghost jobs and mass layoffs from the public sector which is pushing them to the private sector. My manager has stopped talking to me as well. So preparing for the worst.
