There were chickens noises in the background.
Also the lady was so rude. Kinda insane.
Sorry I interrupted you and your chickens

I spent a whole day on with IT once. And at the end of it the problem wasnt fully fixed, I realized they did absolutely nothing that I couldnt have done myself and what they did for the partial fix is what I instructed them to do. I should have went into IT and moved to the Phillipines. I would have been able to spend my whole shift not actually doing anything, get paid for it, and keep my job.
I have been a telecommuter for over 5 years and I can assure you I work my full 40 each and every week…and sometimes more. I am more than productive and my work shows it! Telecommuting is not the issue . The issue is the individual and their character/morals/work ethic. Those terrible, non-productive telecommuters ruin it for the good ones. Please don’t put us all on the same category,
I was put on hold 2 times and refused to be put on a third time. I was asked questions that should clearly be in the system. I hung up.
Not sure where you are working but we have wine and beer from 3-5 on fridays. Usually a charcuterie and sushi plate. This is where we trade a lot of knowledge, plans and ingenuity.
If you drink more than you should a team member will chain you to your desk for the weekend. It's a good deterrent.
Wow just by warming a chair in an office you think work is getting done? How many people in office put in the headphones to block people out so they can actually work? Most of them. The problem is total lack of leadership. A leader can motivate individual contributors they have never met and never will. If the work does not get done fire them. If not available during work day fire them. Physical location has zero to do with productivity. Only has to do with insecure managers having a thumb on the minions since the have an utterly useless role
Chickens? Well you must have gotten a smart individual then. Have you seen the price of eggs?
UHG still thinks offshoring is the way to run an IT organization, they are 20yrs behind everyone else! How long will it take them to catch up to on shoring and ending full time telecommuting so that people actually work a full day!
I was on with IT for a combined 6 hours one day, the guy was very nice but I could hear what sounded like trash flies in the earpiece.
That is what you get when you outsource all your services. Wait until an unhappy customer reports violations to PHI data, rudeness, etc, etc. I recommend you open an Employee Relations ticket number.
I work with offshore all the time chickens and other animal noises is the norm. Lots of loud motorcycles and other traffic. The tv turned up loud in the background is common as well. Get used to it. Rules do not apply on the other side of the globe
When I called I could hear reps in the background asking for elderly women to read the codes on gift cards to them, very odd!
I wonder how this customer service person is upholding the telecommuter requirements of having a secure, private, confidential work space?? Doubt it’s very private if one can hear chickens in the background.
