Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I can't handle the workload anymore

At this point, I'm honestly hoping to be laid off. My team has been steadily shrinking over time. We've lost a lot of capable people, some with critical skills we’re really feeling the absence of now. To be fair, my manager has genuinely tried to distribute the work as efficiently as possible, but there simply aren't enough of us left to make it work. There’s too much overtime, and every single day is packed with tasks that demand full focus. I'm on the brink of total burnout.

I think many departments are in an opposite state as well. Way too many talented people with responsibilities being stripped away. The job I was hired to do is now being done by a team in India. I'm waiting for the inevitable. Just rip the band-aid off already.

As an offshore person, but not someone in one of those mass-hire, cheap labor locations, I absolutely feel it too.

Loss of productivity, loss of reliability, loss of accountability, increase in workload, increase in fix this, now fix this, now fix this, oh and while you're at it, I need you to fix that too.

Absolute garbage.

That’s the direction Optum’s culture is heading. Be aware and consider moving out of this company. it’s unlikely to improve here.

It's horrible, I don't think I've ever felt burnt out like this before. The job market isn't helping much either. Like you, I will gladly accept a lay off, I'm hoping I'm next.
