What are we hearing about another round of layoffs? I was told yesterday that there was not enough interest higher up on the voluntary reductions.

Does anyone have actual timeline and or departments of layoffs? Not a clue ww show up get a invite and find out.
Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has any insight on how secure our jobs as united states reps are at the moment. With all the changes happening, it feels a bit daunting, and I’d love some advice on how to navigate this uncertainty. It’s been quiet on social media lately compared to February, so any thoughts you all might have would really help! Thanks!
Does anyone have actual timeline and or departments of layoffs?
Are C&S employees facing layoffs or cutbacks? Which specific departments or roles are impacted by these changes? Can you clarify which positions or levels are affected? When can we expect to receive further information or updates regarding this situation?
Would they really let go of everyone in O&E? That's who the buyout was mostly offered to.
With the worst earnings news in decades heads will be rolling. The buyout makes sense now and if you were eligible and did not take it odds are not in your favor for survival. One way or another management will hit the magic number. Optum tech always gives up tributes every quarter that is by default. Optum Health mission is just to buy businesses and take then apart landmark etc so they will be tributes as well. United side they will just pick through M&R, C&S that did not take the offer. Hopefully the blood lust does not spill into other business segments
May 1 2025 is the big layoff of at least the 30,000 in benefit operations but with the stock plummeting expect it could be more hope everyone is prepared best as possible and good luck to all,
In 2024, the RIF target was 10% across company.
2024 was the very 1st year that the company overall went down in total # of employees. Reduction was mostly due to RIFs, not FTE resignations. Last year, Ten of Thousands of onshore employees were RIFed.
UnitedHealth Group (UNH) annual worldwide employee count from 2021 to 2024. Source macrotrends dot net (sometimes reported in January FY earnings call):
• UnitedHealth Group total number of employees in 2024 was 400,000, a 9.09% decline from 2023
• UnitedHealth Group total number of employees in 2023 was 440,000, a 10% increase from 2022.
• UnitedHealth Group total number of employees in 2022 was 400,000, a 14.29% increase from 2021.
UnitedHealth Group total number of employees in 2021 was 350,000, a 6.06% increase from 2020.
10% x 400,000 employees (start of 2025) = 40,000 employees
It’s concerning that there hasn’t been any recent communication or updates; everything feels quiet and secretive. This definitely raises questions. While it may just be speculation, we’ll find out for sure on May 1st.
How would you know 30k? It’s all speculation at this point and haven’t heard anything recent. 30k did not accept the buyout to begin with I would say more 3-5%. Any insight you may have I would love to hear
Sometimes, we come across things that really resonate with us and make us stop and think, “Hmm.” It’s those moments that can spark deeper understanding and reflection.
30K would be almost 10% of the organization. I highly doubt it's that large.
So is that 30,000 more ontop of the original 30,000 for 5/1/25?
Just spoke to a recruiter who said 30k. Upcoming.
I believe that no one truly knows what the future holds.
Will fec be impacted?
Which roles are going to be impacted?
Well looks like rumors of 4/17 are incorrect. We would of heard something by now
So C&S employees are getting hit? What parts? People under which line?
the floggings will continue until profitability improves
Yep Google United health earnings. Just reported we came in much lower than expected due to government care type programs. Witty says they are aggressively handling the situation..buckle up. Glad I'm leaving. I had really bad vibes when the offer was presented

O&E is getting hit on May 1st. Fingers crossed I'm safe. Where I live there aren't many jobs that pay like this one. Im looking though. Wish the stock holders called for Witty's resignation. It's his mess up and the captain should go down with the ship
Thank you if I may ask how you know this with the dates? Regardless , if true guess we will find out soon anyway
I’m not sure which areas will be targeted. I wish I could be more helpful to you.
Thank you for answering the question. Do you know what area it is? The same as before with the voluntary layoffs? I am sure they wont do the buyout again so just straight layoffs?
To answer your question, there’s at least one more round of layoffs coming this month. Estimated dates have been 4/17 and 4/24.
Can you please explain what 4/24 means? I haven’t heard anything about layoffs one way or another
So what does 4/24 mean? I will sign up this next round this is unreal just say something to us.
They only offered the VRSP once and said it won't be offered again.
So glad that I took it when offered!
Guess you will know the 4/24
If that’s true, I’ll be the first to sign up this time !
