No one’s saying people can’t complain. But there’s a difference between venting and wallowing in toxic bitterness. If your entire personality here is to hijack every thread with angry, recycled rants and smug gatekeeping about who “belongs” on this site, maybe you need a new hobby.
This is a place for discussion - not your echo chamber for self-pity and misdirected rage. People are allowed to challenge negativity, call out bad behavior, and yes, even bring nuance to a conversation. If that threatens you, maybe it’s because you’ve confused this platform with your own personal soapbox. Newsflash: disagreement isn’t censorship. It’s just other people having a voice too.
So if you're truly here to build community and share experiences, do that. If you're here to endlessly bash, insult, and act like the hall monitor of misery, maybe this site isn’t for you.
This site is called The Layoffs. As I've asked many times in the past, if you don't want to hear people complain about being laid off, why...are...you...here?? It's really quite simple. If you don't like it, go spend time on the Cengage Facebook page or get a healthy hobby that doesn't involve telling people that they su-k. This site isn't for you.

You trash people like this but there have been dozens of us "canaries in the coal mine" since this silly site started, urging people to get out. Its like you all are playing violins on the Titanic. A better example is the SS Minnow.
You've had the better part of a decade to make changes. You either chose not to, or were naiive enough to join such a broken company.
It's a business, a dying business, and AI is going to take 80% of the nonsales jobs. And unfortunately, unless you would like to move to some cr-p socialist state, the role of business is to make returns for its investors, whether is is one person, a public market, or a bunch of rich people. Its all the same. There is little difference between PE and the public markets.
I think MH is a complete buffoon, but he's doing what any person in his job would do. There's no where to grow, so he has to cut cost.
Many of you seem to be brainwashed that what you do helps learners. It doesn't. Especially now that AI is here to stay. Its the most disruptive technology, ever and its not close.

Oh, please. The whole point of this site is for people to express frustration. If you don't like it, why are you here? That says more about you than anything else.
Also, having a good attitude doesn't make any difference. We're all nameless bodies. They don't care if we're good employees or bad employees. It makes not difference. They just want to get rid of as many people as possible.
I'm sure the company would be happy to "horizon you" - you should raise your hand. Who wants an employee who doesn't want to be at the company. Truly fascinating how many people complain here instead of working - imagine if you worked instead of bitched and likely had poor attitude at the company. Glad I left a while ago, you should too!
Last FF with the digital henchmen WC on the call should be a relief to some since we know we will be horizoned soon. I will be relieved, personally.
