Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Most are looking to leave

It’s sad when people want to get let go and are relieved. It’s even sadder when you’ve got people who have been here for 15, 20, 25 and even 30 years who would rather just be unemployed and leave because Dell’s ethics, values, morale and direction don’t align with what a good company should be doing.

I can’t imagine running a company so terribly that most are happy to leave and would rather be unemployed.

Still don’t get the message do you Mike?

The anti-south asian xenophobia on this site is pitiful. People who post this kind of BS are looking for a non-white, non-American villains. The folks who abandoned the Dell workforce and trashed Dell culture for profitability are good-old white, American, rich people.

I don't know anyone (including myself) who would not leave in a minute if they could find another job. Right now the market is very tough, so we are holding on in hopes that the Republicans in congress can do their job and uphold the constitution and reign in the failing Trump economic policies.

The management teams were not selected because of talent. They were selected because they are a part of a group whom are invested in protecting one another, making sure they keep their jobs. They have nothing to do finding and maintaining talent. The talent is a threat to them and the management wants to make sure the talented people aren't recognized but still do most of the case work. This is done by maintaining a certain amount of toxicity. If you suspect then open a case with HR. Don't hesitate. If you are being disrespected, don't disrespect them in return. Open an HR ticket.

If all else fails..
Just leave.

My WFR was the best thing that happened to me in decades. Dell is a miserable place to work. Unfortunately, fear of the job market keeps a lot of people clinging to a job that is damaging to mental and physical well-being. When you start your new job, it becomes insanely clear how bad things really are/were at Dell.

Yes. The culture and direction of the company is absolutely terrible. It’s embarrassing to be here.
