Qualcomm has decided to cut 10% of its workforce as a cost-saving measure amidst uncertain economic conditions driven by tariffs and a slowing economy. This round of layoffs is primarily targeting high-paid employees and those in senior posit

@234+1jrz12p6d, you are correct.
With the dip in stock price, is a layoff imminent?
WARN lags if recall. Impacted would know before WARN made it news. I'm I wrong?
Q has more SVPs than the number of VPs in Broadcom.
MC is the worst SVP. He's cheap and treats his team like garbage.
There is no WARN report. That is required by CA
Does anyone know when this will be announced?
Are they doing this before the next review to sc--w people out of their bonus? Sounds like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen.
I doubt if there would be a lawsuit. You would have to prove the company acted in bad faith. And if so, the lawyers would take 1/2 your bonus. They'll time the rif to not pay out bonuses and offer severely reduced (or no) severances packages. They're in penny-pinching mode now.

10% sounds very high. Not believable.
Change our branding. "Made in Mexico"
It will happen before next review.
Now required reading for all manager on up, the allegory in book VI of Plato's Republic, The Ship of Fools. Exec suite has this mastered, so they want those below them to come up to speed quickly.
Run don't walk for the exit doors you must act with a since of urgency!!!
Q has a poor organization management. Some depts are extremely bulky comparing to what they deliver. It doesn't matter as long as their leads have a strong tie to upper management who are already corrupted as well.
All this prolonged layoff drama at Qcom reminds me of the movie GET OUT, just a script rewrite centered around a corp. Anyone smart would heed that advice. Eventually, one way or another, you'll be out... on your own doing or in a body bag.
Just saying....
10%? Lol. OP, pls post a more believable number for maximum effect.
Audio layoff post is deleted. Because of this, I suspect it may be true.
If the tarrifs situation persists, all tech companies will have to layoffs people, not just Q. However, Q employees will be impacted more due to the significance of the Chinese market and taking advantage of the situation to accelerate moving jobs overseas. Everyone brace for impact, good luck!
Time to pay the piper..
Q is making money from China, sooner or later the market will be gone.
Some orgs deserves 100% gone e.g. gsoc, pmic
Which layers / business units under trouble ?
Thought some of you wanted more tariffs. Guess who is crying now. OP might be trolling but Q would need to do layoffs sooner or later. 60% revenue comes from China, if that market is hit Q would be hit directly. When CA met DT, he set up a date to liberate you from your job.
If OP can share the date, it is more convincing. Otherwise, another BS.
100% B...S
What is the date?
Sounds fake. Even if there is layoff, these high paid people are rarely let go
Plenty of dead wood middle/upper mgmt in QCOM.
10-15% is expected
Is this a fake news again!
