Vicky: You’re clearly unfit for this role if you’re out here tarnishing Warren Buffett’s legacy

It takes a special kind of incompetence to stain Warren Buffett’s legacy—congrats Vicky, you’ve managed the impossible. You’re not just unfit for this role, you’re actively embarrassing it.

It’s not WB’s legacy being tarnished. It’s Chazen’s. Oxy had fiscal discipline backed by strategy and determination to be profitable. The stock price today is a reflection of someone who has no instincts or ability to make those decisions when it comes to billions of dollars. The stock price took a massive hit during Anadarko acquisition, then COVID hit. There was a chance to get it back in the price runup post covid but that only led the captain of the ship back down the road to more debt through ridiculous acquisitions and investments. Most oil companies realized that every four years we have a chance to change administration’s and with that comes new policies. There’s no HR rainbow parade that can change the facts about misguided and dangerous fiscal decisions that have years worth of consequences.

WB knows exactly what he is doing and will come out fine in the end. He can afford to wait it out.

The only $$ Vicki made for Warren was his preferred stock dividends from when he took he to the cleaners to be able to get around a shareholder vote on APC acquisition that would have failed by a large margin.

What was Oxy’s stock price and dividend was in April 2016 when she became CEO? What was it in March 2019 before the offer was made for Anadarko? What was the Oxy stock price and dividend in August 2019 when the APC acquisition closed?

How has she made money for anyone other than short sellers? Look at how COP of CVX have performed over those time periods? Did any of them cut their dividends?

In her defense, the board should be fired too for their negligence in holding her accountable.

Now that DEI is going the way of a South American immigrant, Vicki might have to worry a little more about her job security.

If Buffett didn’t own a 1/3 of the company, where would the stock price be today?

All the other companies dealt with the same external circumstances as Oxy but they seemed to have played their hands much better.

@a7+1jrx0rysw: Please don’t put Vicki and making money in the same sentence. She doesn’t know anything about making money. High oil prices made money for Buffett. Oxy stock would be in much better shape if she hadn’t let her ego get in the way of dealing with male CEOs.

When Vicky was making money for Warren Buffet, you didn’t complain about it. Now that the market is down due to tariffs and other negative policies of the government, you are pinning the blame on Vicky.

How is it Vicky’s fault that OPEC decides to increase production which led to price decrease? How is it her fault that the global economy is in shambles? It is not only Oxy’s stock that is not doing well except you are not following the news the last two weeks or so.

We could as well blame you for not working hard enough to move the Oxy stock price up. When you invest money, you either gain or lose. I lost a lot of money in my 401K due to the trade wars which of course has nothing to do with me.

Will it make sense for you to blame me for losing money on my 401k due to government policies which l have no control over? You are taking someone’s opinion in an article and using it to blame Vicky. Warren Buffet has said anything that he erred by investing in Oxy.

Please relax and stop the blame game. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get back to working towards making Oxy’s stock rise again.

It is always the investors responsibility to make good choices not the company where the investor bought stock. But sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.
