Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

No job is forever

It's not just Dell or just this sector. No matter what industry you’re in, you should always operate like your layoff is coming. It’s not pessimism, it’s preparation. Use that as motivation: stack cash, sharpen your skills, ki-l debt faster, and stay plugged into who’s hiring and what’s trending.

At the end of the day, it’s all a numbers game. Some spreadsheet somewhere decides who’s next based on something, whether it's tenure, salary, location, even age (sad but true). The criteria shift whenever it suits them. Stay ready so you don’t have to panic when the notification hits.

Perfectly said. When I worked in an office, after my first RIF, I never kept more than a box of personal stuff. A small box worth that I could grab in 2 minutes. Never keep any personal info on the work computer.

I read indeed everyday. I watch upskill video's when I can. My goals include to learn new tools and the boss's sign off on it.
