Has anyone heard anything about what’s going to happen after May 1st? A lot of us our panicking if involuntary layoffs are going to happen. It’s been crickets 🦗 No one is talking about it. Anyone have any updates?

When you apply for various positions, you often receive a generic rejection letter stating that "we have gone with other applicants," despite being overqualified for these roles. It's frustrating to invest time and effort into the application process, only to face this impersonal response. It often feels as though companies are prioritizing the hiring of new talent at a lower salary to cut costs, rather than valuing the experience and loyalty of long-standing employees. This trend not only undermines the dedication of those who have contributed to the organization's success but also raises questions about the future of job security and appreciation for seasoned professionals within the workplace.
The thrilling message is right before us—get ready for what’s coming!
Anyone hear about FEC?
When you apply for other positions you are met with the generic letter stating 'we have gone with other applicants' even though you are even overqualified for the positions. I think they just want to bring in new people for less pay and eliminate the long time loyal employees.
Consumer Services will be impacted in O&E
Does anyone know which departments will be impacted or job roles??
Any tips on which areas are going to face layoffs soon?
So far nothing has been said that I know of they are encouraging us to apply for other areas. I feel it will all fall soon. Just want to know I wonder how soon post 5/1/25 we will know about more layoffs.
What are of UHC is on the chopping block? I know Optum is having layoffs....again.
I haven’t but I wish they’d go ahead and do it! I’m so tired of getting on to see my sup threatening to put people on behavioral caps and terminating people. Since the VSRP, it’s been a mess.
It's definitely very strange in my dept. We are being told to update our contact lists and the only reason we would need to do that is if we were being let go and someone else may need the contacts. Very sad I have been here 20 years and now this. 😢
- It was always a moving target.
- So many front line staff took the VRSP that now the dept that I know of is too top heavy.
Why would layoffs be coming soon if they supposably got more than expected?
Supposably had so many take it in some departments that they are now hiring. So the layoffs coming soon comment makes no sense. People trying to stir things up.
Just heard, there's layoffs coming soon.
But if you notice none of the positions are here. So why not tell us.
I think right now it's the calm before the storm. We will see what 5/1 brings.
At least part, but possibly all, of the Appeals area is on a freeze. This has not been communicated to the employees. There was a large amount of people that voluntarily resigned, so this will be a time of change. They are consolidating some things, dropping other things, and revamping systems and processes. They will be looking at remaining staffing versus current and projected inventory. There's even talk of needing additional staffing.
There's even some forthcoming meetings about some of these changes.
Depends on your department…
Theres been a ton of new positions posted to backfill roles for those who took the VRSP. I wish we knew something too. My stomach is in knots.
