The OP isn't insulting Cengage really. They are insulting the people who work there or have worked there. They wrote: "If you're still working at this nightmare organization, you're the problem." That's not fair or kind. The workers aren't the problem. Cengage is the problem. The trolls are not lashing out at Cengage because they're frustrated. They come here solely to insult everyone else. That's what trolls do.

I mean, I completely agree with everything you have posted in response to this, but I also understand the anger that fuels posts like this. A lot of us worked long hours and with great passion for the shared work that was being done. The gaslighting, the deception, and the heartless dumping stung. It still does, for some. So the instinct is to lash out. Most do so more gracefully than this OP, but I do understand where the energy comes from.
I wish the trolls on this site would move on. I sincerely don’t get it. I’m hanging on at Cengage for now. Not whining, just expressing ideas and sentiments on this site as a form of expression and support for others. Ignoring ignorant and stupid troll posts. Wishing everyone no longer at the company and those still hanging on well because why would I wish you ill? Trolls - I feel sorry for you.
This is so distasteful and unkind.
There are countless valid reasons why employees may be unable to walk away from toxic organizations. Bad job market, financial obligations, health care needs, familial responsibilities, and the list goes on. Navigating your way out without jeopardizing these things can be a drawn out process that must be handled with care.
If you’re someone who feels stuck and miserable right now please know that you are NOT the problem. Trolls are going to troll. Don’t let them get you down.
Just be diligent and persistent in pursuing new opportunities. Your time will come.
