Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

Some encouragement

I was a part of the US layoffs and had my last day at Cargill on December 5th and was very angry and sad about losing my job. I really liked my team at Cargill but the work was uninspired and monotonous. Grateful to say that, after 80+ job applications and 3.5 months of searching, a recruiter called me about a genuinely exciting opportunity on a Thursday and I had a new job by the following Wednesday.

So, whether you were already impacted by layoffs or are worried about more to come, know that there is plenty of hope even in a difficult market.

Congratulations!! Hope it is a reminder to others life is better elsewhere. As angry as I am about how horribly Cargill treated me all these years and especially on the way out, I am beyond happy at how much better work cultures are in other places. Don’t let those arrogant and bully leaders fool you into thinking you should be grateful to work at Cargill. Nothing is farther from the truth!

Congratulations on your new job! In the long run, I'm sure you'll be thankful you didn't waste more of your career time at this horrible, abusive company.
