It’s looking like the rumors might be true … there’s increasing speculation that PayPal is in advanced discussions to acquire Fiserv. Directors were having sidebar conversations about it earlier, which makes it feel less like speculation and more like something already in motion. If this merger or strategic acquisition becomes official, I’m concerned about the downstream impacts workforce restructuring, leadership realignment, maybe even shifts in our product roadmap. It’s hard not to feel some uncertainty right now.

Fiserv acquired FDC on January 16, 2019 in an all-stock deal with equity value of $22 billion. Fiserv completed the acquisition of First Data on Monday, July 29, 2019. It just seems the other way around since FDC senior management eventually took the reigns.
welcome PP's thought process. Would make this insanely archaic company called fiserv focus on technology and innovation. The only innovation in fiserv happens on excel sheet and mainframe jobs :-)
I've seen a number of merchants drop pp and use square. Much faster easier and simpler check out and payment. My use of pp has dropped significantly in the last year. Same for eBay, both are to expensive and greedy.
@hs+1jrkbfwx1. Yeah, where's all the people that got 10-15% raises? What I've seen on this board is people still wondering where the normal 1% raise is at, that is being pushed later and later every year.
File this one alongside 15% raise. BS.

Didn't stop First Data from acquiring Fiserv...
'But maybe they want to move their processing back in-house to cut long term cost and Fiserv is hoping to offload a processing Core to them. I could see that happening.'
What core and what about the clients that are on that core? It would never fly.
If true maybe that's why Frank n beans is leaving to run SSA
Paypal is expensive and their glory days are behind them. But maybe they want to move their processing back in-house to cut long term cost and Fiserv is hoping to offload a processing Core to them. I could see that happening.
Never going to happen. The only relationship is we process for PayPal and like most clients they aren’t happy
Doubt PayPay would acquire Fiserv, as their market cap is about half of Fiserv (61 billion vs. 116 billion). Suzan Kereere Is a wonderful person and leader and would love to work with her again.
The PayPal Forum. I can't wait.
We need to run like rats while there is time. FB will make out like a bandit and will leave all of us with our pants down. Run……
I think this is wishful thinking, but would welcome the changing leadership if it did happen.
Those poor PayPal employees are going to have a culture shock when we infect their organization.
Fiserv is under heavy scrunity from the FBA at the moment. Noone wants to buy this tu-d, and if whatever is going on with the FBA isn't resolved by the summer, they'll be lucky to be in buisness.
