ETX Layoffs April 2025

Over 100 people across ETX. Group announcements instead of individual like previous rounds. Most were told they were being replaced by offshore already hired.

I know a colleague who got laid off with just 5 days before 3 year vesting period. Lost all accumulated pension and 20% of 401K. Very cheap company when it comes to employees who worked their bt off.

I could be wrong, but I do sense yet another layoff. MM really needs to stop wasting money on projects that go no where, just to keep people on the payroll. They need to learn to focus on three main areas. Do it correctly, and nothing else until those are launched. It has also become very top heavy here.

Developers, QA, Design, Scrum/Project, Business Analysts, Architects, Security.

It was quietly circulated recently that there’s going to be no new Robotics work only production support. Most of them have been down for a week so make of that what you will

Just curious what types of roles the 117 people had. I was a “Business Consultant” working on APIs. Moved to Robotics team. It was a complete dead end.

I was part of the april layoffs. Sent my monitor and laptop back only to find out I had to pay for ups to come pick up my package, its free to drop off at ups. But a large box weighing 30 lbs or more and they couldn't bother to pay for a residential pick up. A multi-billion dollar company. But hey, us 117+ people were the problem. And It would not shock me in the least if yet another round in may happens. Right before the summer. And this would be the last for 2025. Good luck those left at MM.

The current WH admin enacted tax breaks for companies who offshored jobs during their last time in office. Their party's current financial bill is seeking to extend and increase tax breaks for companies that offshore. It's laughable to think they care about America jobs over profits.

What areas are being impacted in May? The same orgs keep getting hit each time, just different teams

Would love to see the White House tariff this offshore work. This is just another form of offshore manufacturing

The goal is to send as many jobs out the country as possible. Their days of pretending to be a technology company are long over, they never paid for the talent and their leadership is clueless, just trying to keep the lights on. It's just a matter of time before you get dismissed unless you're in the right club. Even then, when it's time to save some money to make the company look better to the board there won't be any hesitation. That sign in Fenway was expensive and it will be there for another 8 years, most of the ETX team will be long gone by then.

If they do layoffs at once, that’s WARN territory and would catch too much attention.

Executives already planning the next round in May. You’d think they’d do it all at once but I guess not. HR laziness?
