Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I’m grieving what Landmark used to be

I feel like Optum bought Landmark 4 years ago just to dismantle it. That company was good to their patients, as well as their employees. Makes me sad that has ended.

LHC Group is next. Dismantle is a great term for it. Optum absorbs and dismantles.

Maybe they should stick with house calls and let other companies provide speciality care to patients in need.

Optum does not know how to run a business. Once they acquire a company, they are so risk adverse that they ultimately lead to the demise of otherwise very successful companies. But they have ensured that no one else has the market penetration or the technology those acquired companies have. It delays competitors being able to bring something competitive to market. Then Optum dismantles and buys the next start-up showing promise. Look at their track record, Optum does not run successful, long-term programs.

Prospero was literally the best of the best, then LM, they only buy to ensure no one else is making $ they could be, then if it’s not enough to keep the stock price up, they dismantle everything, tear it all down without no concern for anyone, patients or hard working employees, apparently the Optum way. Look to the money always and you’ll have your answer to all things 💯 %

I feel like I’m going to vomit. This isn’t right. None of this is right. They’re holding us in limbo and while they actively manipulate patients and falsify their charts.

@bw+1jrh9yfcy, same thing happened with us in January. It was with provider offices though. Great, Ill send you a list every month and we can get these patients enrolled in LM. The next day — yeah about that, sorry, I wont be sending those lists to you afterall. In fact, noone will be.

Company has become even more disgusting. It’s all smoke and mirrors.
Just be open with everyone and pull the trigger on the mass layoff already.

and then to be told to maintain the status quo until they give us a script to allow us to terminate ourselves with our patients

please call LM first. i am here to support you—thursday
i am sorry, you are no longer enrolled in the program—friday

nope.

@ab+1jrh9yfcy, they have to get offered a position first! This could all be smoke and mirror "re-deployment." I don't see many LM NCM or CC's getting placed, not with care navigators still out there at about $24/hr.

Not everywhere. Think about what Landmark was supposed to be, who it was supposed to serve the most... then take a look at some of the coverage areas, how fractured they were and with so much red tape where patients could only be seen during certain hours of the day because of their neighborhood. Then you had some NP's simply not go to visits or make some feeble effort to just long enough for their GPS to ping them at the location or throw a tantrum about a zip code.

To those nurses (you know who you are), I'll say good luck in Housecalls!
