Hello from Reimagination Land! It's too bad we are so isolated from FA's. I really feel as an associate and also as a client with Edward Jones you FA's should absolutely be concerned with the new quality of care you will be receiving. Do you think vendors are going to care about finding your client $10 or just write it off? They have no stake in the company and don't care about our dying culture. Yes, speaking as a veteran I can say there are people who need to go and processes that need to be upgraded but we didn't need a massive purge from my perspective. Now HQ people who are left are watching fellow associates train their replacements. Associates that have heart and go the extra mile when you ask instead of saying that isn't my responsibility. So instead of keeping the associates who cared about Jones and planned on retiring there and only make $65k we are keeping 5 layers of GPs at millions. I honestly don't know what they do. It appears all my bosses are now in constant meetings and never make direct meaningful decisions. So as a client who worked hard for my money and is semi close to retirement I will be leaving Edward Jones. As an associate I do understand business decisions shouldn't be emotional but I am extremely concerned about the future of the company and it is like watching a family member die. And on a last note, it is soooo tone deaf and arrogant for Penny to give us the message that while we might be getting laid off it's for the GOOD of the client and the company and we should come to work with a good attitude and a willingness to push the new agenda forward and sacrifice ourselves to Penny's vision. Thanks Penny but I can't support my family on your vision.

I was just thinking, if "we" are so slow at making decisions and changes, why not focus on "re-structuring" those who have to sign off and give approval? If I, my team, leader, or director have a change that would drive us forward, we have to go up the chain. Why are we being punished and part of this BS, when it isn't us who is holding up the change process?
Beautifully said.
Our GP made a point to say that this is being done from a position of financial strength...cool, instead of reinvesting GP payouts they have fearlessly decided to sacrifice the little people...so brave...such leadership...much wow!
Make them PAY you to leave. Don’t do it for free!
and the 5 layers of gps will all keep their multi-million dollar salaries while you try to figure out what's next. cutting a 100 million with like 4 people from the executive team could save the firm all the money it needs. God bless you!
