15 for VP/SVP.
Good luck ever talking to your managers again.
Also, good luck ever getting a promo into management! It'll never happen.

Each manager needs 20 directs, not only executives. Too many people managers out there, either convert to IC or let go.
20 per director? What about managers and senior managers, are those roles disappearing
Counterpoint, I've been on a team of 27 or so managed by one person. It's great because there's no micromanagement whatsoever. We have 1x1s every other month or so and half of them get cancelled. I'm in the office for about an hour 3x days per week and nobody says anything.
If you're not one that needs hand holding this really is the ideal scenario.
does this 'team lead' get a stipend or additional money for being a 'team lead'? my guess is no...
Many ICs have no desire to become managers. At least not technical ICs.
Once you become a manager in a tech dept you lose touch with the technology that attracted you to this business. You can make almost as much as you move through the ranks as an IC (I10) makes more than a lot of managers) and you get to turn your phone off at 5:00pm Friday and not turn it on until 9:00AM Monday.
My "team lead" threw me under the bus with review feedback to my boss. I hope he gets what he did to me. Team lead my @ss!
" team lead"
team lead is a total joke at Dell. It's dangling a carrot while you are a squire to the manager.
They will continue the dotted line / team lead nonsense they've been using to paper over the spans expansions. Instead of getting a promotion or a manager title, employees will handle all the people manager tasks over their peers while staying at the same grade and title. Dell just keeps getting better and better.
thats fair, managers do nothing in dell
