This is nothing new, border agents have the right to go through your electronic devices and it's done all over the world. My girlfriend flew into Quebec 3 years ago and they grilled her for an hour about "You're here to work illegally" while going through her phone and ipad.

I got the same treatment in 2021 at the Laredo-Colombia border crossing when they accused my friend of "evasive answers". They went through both our phones. In case you forgot, Trump wasn't POTUS in 2021.
