Is it true you’re only eligible for severance pay after working at Dell for 3 years? I was let go today and have been with Dell a bit over 2 years. (Based in Ireland). Thanks in advance for any help.

If you were let go, they would have told you something about severance. They said nothing?
Can you please update how much you were paid or how the calculation was done?
Ireland severance is six weeks per year (including statutory) capped at 2 years salary. If you have more than 16 years service, due to income tax rules you will end up paying very little tax.
""calculated as two week's pay for every year of service, and one further week's pay. This is paid tax-free but is capped at €600 per week.""
This is why I tried to establish citizenship in Ireland. They have better employment laws to protect their employees. In the US it's one week's pay for every year of service. And wee pay TAX ON all of it.
This 2 years threshold applies to statutory severance. Any Dell voluntary severance payout is not affected.
"Severance Payment Requirements
As a minimum, employees must, provided they have completed at least two years' service, be paid a statutory severance payment, which is calculated as two week's pay for every year of service, and one further week's pay. This is paid tax-free but is capped at €600 per week."
Yes in Ireland you have to be with the company two years but even if you aren't then they usually pay out
Pretty sure it was 2 years in Ireland until Pay started being calculated. Check r/develeire as well
never heard that before but could be. if they pay out you vacation and pwt then it would make more sense.
