Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Failing at Ford

Ford has not had a success in a long time. Not only are we bogged down with constant recalls, we are bogged down in thinking that EVs and subscriptions might save us. They won’t.

The battery plants under construction are already both obsolete and unneeded in the market. We lose money on every EV we sell, and most people don’t want them.

We have no successful subscription services. Nobody pays for Blue cruise after the free period. We have over 300 people working in “safety and security services “ but zero customers paying for any of that after the free period. The guy that replaced Stern already has his stock options under water, so he probably won’t stay around long enough to fire the people who have been losing $5 billion annually trying to come up with subscription plans.

Lincoln is a failing brand, and nobody other than Ford employees think it is a “luxury”brand.

With engineering moved to low cost countries, I don’t expect to see improvement.

We need to go back to building quality vehicles that people want and can afford to buy.

Just imagine if Billy and Fartley had spent a fraction of BEV development money on keeping the quality mind set and placing really good experienced quality gurus around the company to fix the QOS? Like the knuckle head operator who turns off the tool detection on the CNC and sent 300 parts into the field with bad holes due to a broken drill. I could write a book on this but you know what the corporate higher ups decided to let go the old white guys instead of picking their brain and using their knowledge. Most engine design issues came out of EU. Belts in oil, head gasket sealing, etc. turbo charging everything just makes it more challenging from a design perspective. All due to CAFE. Give me a N.A. v8 push rod with VCT. Less parts means lower probability of quality issue vs DOHC with twin VCT, variable pressure pumps, cylinder deactivation, etc. it’s a nightmare waiting to happen.

Me so sorry to rant.

No, because I’m the ai post conspirator. This seems like a genuine person distraught about the company he seems enmeshed with when it comes to doing good work which seems to be something they sound like they take pride in.

Ok, I've seen enough posts here now to conclude that this stern guy is/was a complete more on.
