There are no CEOs in history who have ever told the truth about the future. He had to say this in order to keep remaining shareholders from bolting. Besides, he's probably thinking that by 2030, he'll be enjoying the green pastures somewhere else while his successor will be stuck trying to explain why this promise can't be met.
