Is this true? I’ve heard that some people were told by their managers that they are about to be laid off, but that they will be notified in a week or two.

Yes, correct, different countries have different timelines.

Yes remotes seem to be the majority of the war. Not all though.
Yeah it’s true. My manager told me today I will be getting laid off but that I wouldn’t get the “official” line from HR until the start of May. I’m remote by the way. Not sure if that was the reason why. Not that it matters now anyway.
It seems that it’s a lot of those that stayed remote me included.
Well, when the PM asks you when due milestones are complete tell them that you'll let them know in 2-3 weeks ; )
Yep, two people on my team were told they would be kept on for a couple more weeks before being laid off. Date unknown.
I think they might have it worse than those of us that just got chopped, honestly.
