Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

The mistreatment is not surprising

They want people to leave and it’s far cheaper for them if people leave on their own. It’s simple math.

I absolutely love India call centers. Nothing brings more glee than repeating everything I said 4 times and getting wonderful answers like "have you rebooted your laptop" or my personal favorite "we will email you your new password" when you are unable to login to your acct.

I don’t agree with their math though. Cheaper is not always the best value. I think the move to India will destroy the company. How happy are you with call centers in India vs the US?

Quite a clear sign of the quality of people our execs are to design, implement or tolerate this approach and its collateral human destruction. Remember, even the ones who seem “nice” are willing to ignore right and wrong as long as they pocket $m to tens of $m while working feverishly to come up with the next idea to build a new middle class in India while hollowing out the middle class in the HC10 (ironic that most of them are from HC10 and entitled enough to believe they are special). Actually sort of astonishing how completely that kind of money destroys people who likely started out as having a value system other than greed.
