Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

How will Citi be affected by Trade War and collapsing stock market?

As the fear rises and the selloff steepens, leading to eventual lower guidance, how do you think Citi will be affected?

How about layoffs? Do we think Citi will use this as an excuse to do more even though their balance sheet is completely safe heading into this?

I mean obviously our target client are late multi nationals so I think any move away from globalization hurts our competitive advantage in the long term.

Then there’s the impact of any recession which will be tough given we have a large consumer balance sheet (cards)

im waiting for the government to force Citi to stop hiring Devs overseas and bring them back here to the USA. Some teams can have over 80% of its team members overseas.
