That isn’t sad. It was a much needed thing. Fire those foreigners and bring the jobs home, where they belong.

Even more bizarre is that they have had an Intel Fellow in charge of it who reports to Saf. I learned all about them during a ridiculous round of interviews by which they determined I was a real engineer and not cut out to be a Power Point McKinsey Warrior. This Intel Fellow, name rhymes with yeast, has had a full blocked out schedule for years, has a staff that sets up and agrees to meetings, then a few hours before each meeting likes to cancel them. It's a roomed project with no room. Silliest smoke and mirrors project in Intel History.

Anyone remember in 2015 when Intel announced they'd have a level 5 self driving car with BMW...in 2020!?!?! LOL

Intel can’t get beyond X86. Putting all the wintell nonsense into a chip to run an automobile is id--tic.

“Please wait 3 minutes until your car is fully booted before proceeding on the roadway”

What is Intel doing with automotives? Pointless waste of resources imo. Intel processors are not fit for all workloads in the world. Intel tried to adapt their high performance CPUs to IoT apps like wearables a few years back and that failed miserably after wasting hundreds of millions. Intel is greedy without vision and clear objectives. They make the same mistakes over and over without learning from them. That's the biggest weakness of Intel unfortunately. They want to have presence everywhere while lacking the required expertise and creativity. Hence the current state it is in.

The "Intel Automotive" group whatever it's called now was always a joke.. Starting with the InfoTainment and then Automated Driving efforts to sell over-priced silicon into commodity closed systems was never going to become profitable as PC's and Servers were. Yet management invested in bloated hierarchical groups both in US and Europe to go chasing the dream of ever-increasing and ever-lasting revenues in a market which required both long-life silicon and long term customer commit.. Never
